Obtaining Samples & Loops...

I'm just getting back into using Live. My sample library consists of absolutely nothing. How did you guys start your sample library? I know I could easily sample my own, but I am concerned about licensing. I mean, if I do make a track that I put out, I don't want to have to worry about licensing. I'd never remember where I got what.

Are there any sample CDs that are reasonably priced?

I'm wondering about loops also. I know I'd never use a premade loop for a track I produce. BUT it could be fun and inspiring to play with some premades in clip mode.

Freesound project - just about any sound you want royalty free.

Or Sonomic www.sonomic.com royalty free one shots and loops audition and pay as you go, they also have some downloadable CDs (ie several hundred MB content) for good value from g-force and other established sample/loop producers.

at Sony's AcidPlanet site you can pick up free "no strings attached" loops. each week they post an "8 pack", which is a package of 8-10 loops. usually has some tasty stuff. check it out here

http://www.acidplanet.com/tools/8Packs/?T=6520

they also always run a deal--i.e. 2 for 1 loop cds.
