Hi

Maybe i'm being thick here i don't know but how do you save CC assignments you have made into Ableton devices/plug-ins.

An example:

I open a simpler > click MIDI learn > turn knobs on my controller > save these assignments on my controller of choice as "simpler", then everytime i open a simpler i have instant control using my controllers "simpler" template. At the moment i have to re-learn the controllers for it to work.

I have rtfm aswell and im still at a loss as to what to do.

Please help.

Midi cc assignments are saved as part of a liveset (.als file)... so the simpler will have the same controllers next time you open up that file.
For predictable assignment of cc regardless of liveset... set up your midi controller as a control surface in Preferences. It will then automatically map to x predetermined parameters on whatever device currently is marked with the 'blue hand' icon. One approach is to make instruments into a rack. The macros automatically map the first eight rotary controls on your midi controller.

I find Instant mapping a bit confusing to begin with and I had to do some research on 'user preferences' to get my edirol pcr30 to work- but its well worth sussing out.
