Freeze Error

Everytime I try to freeze and flatten a clip to audio Live crashes(serious error message) 
Im trying to freeze/flatten clips that have effects chains/VSTplugins attached to them,ones that use up my CPU.
Im on XP and have a AMD Dual Core 3800+2.00ghz ,If that helps.
Anyone know how to avoid this from happening
