MOTU Ultralite + Thunderstorm Power Surge = Bad?

There was a massive thunderstorm in my city. I wasn't around to power down my studio. There was a power outage. Now my MOTU Ultralite does not power on.
It was connected with Firewire 6p-6p, and it's standard DC power cable.
(I was never able to get it to run off Firewire bus power, for some odd reason.)
Any suggestions? Is there a power-cycle or something I can try? is it totally fried, and garbage, or can it be repaired?
Any advice whatsoever would help... thanks.

Try it with another adapter cord (can get one from radio shack if there isnt one around the house). If it works your in luck. If it doesnt consider yourself lucky that it was the only thing that got fried. Also check to make sure its not the surge surpressor that isnt working.

+1 on swapping out the DC adaptor... 1st link in da chain that will be hit with a power spike.
2nd option is to return under 'waranty' if possible..."it just stopped working".. etc

I tried swapping the cable, no luck... Out of warranty as well...

I unplugged everything that was plugged into it, including the Firewire cable from my Mac, and then let it sit overnight. In the morning I plugged in just the power, and now it works. Words can't express the relief.

Dude you should get one of those power conditioner/surge things. I have the monster power pro 1000 and shit is so sweet. It even lets all your shit run during a brown out.

Are you telling us you do not plug your gear into a power conditioner? If so, it is probably fried like chicken.
