Ableton Syncing Question

Sorry, i know stuff like this has been posted before but i still seem to be having difficulty getting round syncing two laptops. Any help would be appreciated, i'm really stuck and need to be sorted for thrusday evening.
Theirs two Laptops (fujitsi-slave & dell-master), Korg MicroKontrol and Korg Kaoss Pad 2.
Firstly would anyone be able to link or explain how to setup how would you connect through LAN or Ethernet. Most explainations seem to be for Mac computers. I tried setting up Wormhole2, but it kept coming up on the "connection timed out"
Secondly if i was to connect via Midi, would i be able to do so through M-audio midi/usb interface
or Rolands
and how would i go about doing so.
