actually, i was surprised by how much i liked LA when i visited.
I don't know too much about the music scene out there, but i guess Ken Gibson is based out of LA, right? (y'know, [a]ppendics shuffle, 8 frozen modules)

I don't live in LA but have visited plenty and every music scene seems like the Hollywood movie version of a scene.....beautiful people crammed into a space where it's more about being seen than the actual scene, and I've been to their dance clubs, rock clubs, and goth clubs. LA just has a weird focus and mentality. I don't even want to imagine what a hip hop club would be like there.

Thanks to David Cross (of mr show, not of ableton), who's bit this is a poetic reworking of.

have you ever been to Kansas? fuck that noise, I'd rather die in Ca than live within 500 miles of Kansas. we get earthquakes every few years or decades, they get a handful of tornadoes every summer.
john - what part of LA? it's freaking huge and you're not going to go to a club in Pasadena when you live in Venice, you'd never make it.

Los Feliz is great, lots of great restaurants, coffee shops and whatnot.
Silverlake is hipsterville, too. Which is right around the corner from Los Feliz basically. It's where all the cool kids be at.

I'm still here.

is the thing I do.
Rob hood on the 4th of July. on the 11th of July I've got Gregor Tresher. Steve Bug in August.
LA has a fantastic music scene - you just need to get plugged in.
And yes, I'm still conservative.
