Give It To Me

Fulcrum takes the meat from The Chairmen of the Board's Give Me Just a Little More Time to make a dancefloor hottie. He layers it with driving beats, a bouncy bassline, and seals the deal with his searing guitar line. Clayton ladles the special sauce all over the mixing board to complete the C&F sound.

Marvin's Groove

Fulcrum had the mojo flowing when he dropped the needle onto the intro of Marvin Gaye's sexy opus, I Want You, for this sultry number. He completes the seduction with deep bass, a funky sample from Issac Hayes' Hot Buttered Soul, and a cowbell break that doesn't wait 3 days to give you a follow up call. In the heat of mixing passion, Clayton gives this sonic enticement a smack on the ass.

Downrock's Theme

Downrock, aka Bret Syfert, is a gifted visual artist and devoted BBoy. To thank him for his incredible artwork on both C&F albums, Clayton collages funk and soul samples into this 6 minute ride down BBoy lane. He dug deep into C&F's Funk Library, a sample collection 6 years in the making, and eschews the usual C&F studio trickery and polish to keep this one raw and gritty.

Downrock's Theme was sketched in Live, using it to align the samples, and then mixed in Logic.
