I know plenty of other people are having this problem, but I have not seen a solution yet.

I have an axiom 49 keyboard, and when I go to the midi/sync tab in preferences and select it from the input/output menus and try to hit the dump function the button is greyed out.

does anybody know how to get it to work.?

please download and install our M-Audio Axiom Tutorial from here:
www.ableton.com/livepacks , (you´ll need to scroll down a bit).
The tutorial works with Live 6 or higher.
Simply double-click it after the download in order to install it into Live´s lessons section - it will guide you through using your Axiom with Live.

To answer your question: you need to choose an 'Axiom Classic' script in the Control Surface section of Live´s Midi/Sync tab in order to send the dump.

hi i have the axiom 61 and now i have this problem although mine used to work i don't know what happened.mine is also greyed out now.don't know whether this happened whilst i downloaded 7.0.7.

I have 7.0.1 and it doesn't work.

upgraded to 7.0.3
