I have been using vista on my laptop for about 9 months and it works fine. The only thing to bear i mind is it does consume more memory than xp, so you need 2gig or higher, and a decent graphics card also helps. Live runs like a dog if you turn off the new screen rendering services in vista.

Also check that all the devices you use, ie audio interface etc have decent vista drivers available. I use an old edirol interface and their drivers have been pretty good so far.

Vista is fine is you can satisfy those things. I have some friends who have not had any luck with vista, but their pc's are cheap assed things with dodgy unbranded components, but provided the machine is of decent build with good branded vista complient components you will be fine.

I fully expect to get flamed for my above comments, but it is fine for me. I have done 1 album, nearly finished off some ep's and done a complete sample dvd all on vista.

Hope this helps.

I forgot to mention, I have a few notes on my blog about tweaking vista too.

You can do things like turning off indexing and rollbacks etc.
