Live - Korg MicroKontrol - Help needed

Hi,
I bought the MicroKontrol yesterday and I must admit that I'm not
really into midi controllers ... I saw that the software package
included a live template but it isn't of any use for me.
Especially the tempo control is not working with Live - can anybody
give me help on that, maybe send me microKontrol-Templates (*.mkd).
I'm a windows user - I got a Toshiba Satellite running on WinXP SP 1,
an M-Audio Firewire 410 soundcard, Ableton Live and the MicroKontrol.
Cheers for your help,
Andreas

the Ableton template included with the microkontrol is pretty lame, just faders and pans.
but really, you've got to tailor it to suit your own needs. There is no use of us sharing templates, because, you may not have the same plugins i have to turn on and off, or need to same amount of audio channels.
my advice is make it work for you. It is really rediculously easy to assign midi controls to both live and the microkontrol.
RE: tempo sync with Microkontrol... it is possible. Assign the sync input to MicroKontrol 2, and hit the sync button on live, then press "Message" button and "Start" pad together... and there you go.
good luck.

AM, does the mircoKontrol work wonders with Live? I have just a midi keyboard. Anyway, tell us your settings on the microkontrol.....

I have different setting for different occasions on my microkontrol.
I usually have all the faders controlling the volume's for each channel.
When I play live, I have 6 audio tracks, and 2 aux channels up... so i control all those with the 8 microkontrol faders.... i make sure that each clip's volume is set at a volume low enough that if i throw all the faders up to "127", that they don't clip the channel.
With the rotaries, i have them set up on different things for each channel... some are controlling low pass filters, some are send amounts, one is the frequency of the ping pong delay, and one to the feedback.
When playing live, i set up the pads to trigger effects on/off or plugin parameters on/off... turning on the filters, or doing stuff like switching supatrigga's "rearrange probability" so it goes from 0 - 100... awesome for creating instant fills... or also with supatrigga, one pad switches "instant repeat"/"instant slow" on or off... very handy (and fun) also! Also got one as a "redux" on, and another as a "reverb freeze".
For writing, i have set up the pads to send note messages for the 'impluse' of live 4... which is very cool, for creating drum patterns... tapping away like an mpc.
i reckon that the microkontrol and live are great together.
ohh yeah, and i use the keys on the keyboard occansionally too

yes.... you can map clips to both keys on the computer keyboard through key mapping, and keys on the musical keyboard, through midi mapping. Without trying to sound like a dickhead, "read the manual", it actually tells you alot about what you can do.

The best way to do it:
while in midi assign mode, after you select your fader, appear at the bottom a kind of "trim control" of your fader.

I am getting mad with that..
Is that only while connecting in midi? I am pluged in usb.
