Amazing, thousands paying customers singing more in tune than the "star" who gets paid thousands if not miillions....

It was a response to Oasis saying he shouldn't play Glasto (so who knows maybe he was taking the piss with his singing style or not!).

The kind of people that don't want hip-hop and just want indie rock at Glasto are the ones that camp out in front of the Pyramid Stage for 3 days. It's a whole city that pops up out of nowhere with so much going on!

Fuck them and their fold up picnic chairs.

Obviously, they never get as far as the jazz worold stage, or any of the rest of the festival for that matter. But there's always been loads of different musical styles being played. Just because he headlined one night.

Who cares about who headlines anyway. Dancing to the music coming out of the bugger vans, or some little clothes stall with decks set up when everything else has stopped. Now that's where it's at.

But Jay Z's rendition of wonderwall was pretty shocking. He should have at least done something different and rapped his way through it or something.

Rest of his show was pretty good. From what I saw on me telly, anyway.

I was there, man, I WAS THERE. But I saw Massive Attack instead and it was boring.
But I think the Wonderwall thing was supposed to be a pisstake. I think he wanted everyone to go "Boo! We want some hip hop!" But everyone sang along. But from what my friends say Jay-Z's set was very good. A highlight, which I missed of course because I overdid it in teh dance tent the night before, as usual, and had to write off all of Saturday.

Damn, now I understand the whole politics of it. however the reality is if someone does not know all the background sees/hears only pathetic individual with a guitar. I think brightonalex is right, miscalculation, perhaps he never planed singing the tune through and the whole thing went wrong.

A weekend wasted is never a wasted weekend.

When you watch the video it seems to me that he looks slightly disconcerted when he holds out the microphone and thousands of people are singing along to the song that is supposed to be being lampooned. But I'm usually wrong.

You are right, people start singing before he even reaches the mic. I imagine the plan was -he walks aping an Englishman with a guitar, crowd was to booo and we want Jay Z, we want RAP ......and he goes with his routines. Jay Z is arrogant but not that stupid, isn't his gf a singer? No I cant believe he planned it like that, rather got caught in action. He,he,he... playa got played by the karma.
