Anyone know the best way to recreate something like that mad amazing noise in Energy Flash by Joey Beltram?

http://www.last.fm/music/Joey+Beltram/_/Energy+Flash

Wa-wa-wa-waa-waa waa-waa-waaa-waa

It's so wicked, it reminds me of being 16 .

Anyway, what would the best synth be?

Cheers.

Pretty sure it's a 303...

oh hell yeah!

reminds me of being 16 too.

i'm pretty sure i heard that on the silly trance europe express compilation. Which also had that super sick Moody Boys track, "glitch." Which still blows my freakin mind.

and yeah, i'm pretty sure that's a 303.

could be a 202, it sounds a bit rich to be the 303. I know johnisfaster uses a 202, maybe he can have a go at recreating it?

ARG!!

Sorry guys, was on the second track (floaters) with the more aggreassive sound.

The one on energy flash is a 303 indeed! :D

the 202 is pretty much the same synth as the 101 but with a much more fun sequencer. I have a 101 and it can't get that same squelchy kind of sound out of the filter.

yeah the 202 sequencer has the ability to assign vcf 'accents' to any note in the sequencer.. so you can get acid sounds slightly more easily than the 101. hasn't got the noise tho'

yeah, there might be a 303 in the track, but that particular sound has attack on the filter cutoff, which is not available on the 303.
otherwise the sound wouldn't be described as
Wa-wa-wa-waa-waa waa-waa-waaa-waa
but as "ieaw-ieaw-ieaw-ieuaaaw-ieuaaaw"
