I'm new to Mac, and we aren't best friends yet. When I try to record something into Live from another program (iTunes, Finale, or whatever) internally, it seems to record using the built-in mic right from the built-in speakers, so I'm getting all the ambient noise. Is there a way to get a line-type solution -- sound card --> Live?
I'm on a Macbook Pro.

Or
Wiretap pro/Studio...

It's excellent.
By the way...in a Macbook Pro...you can set the input to Line or built in mic.

A cool freeware app is SoundSource. It gives you a drop-down selector menu for your audio hardware and quick access to audio and midi prefs from the finder menu bar.

They also make Audio Hijack for recording any source on your Mac. (The free demo records for 10min at a time)

I use Sibelius, but I'm pretty sure that Finale has an "export audio" function, that should be pretty useful.
Whenever I write mixed works (acoustic instruments with electronics), I'm always bouncing tracks from Sibelius to Live, and it works very well (now, if Sibelius had Rewire, that would be fantastic!).
