Hey there

I was wondering if it's possible to set Ableton so that it doesn't stop playback when you press space bar, or gives you the option to cancel.

Thanks!

easy way is to use the EXT button

nowadays, you need to have a device enabled for sync, or it will disappear.

but if the ext button is on, the space bar won't work..

I have a program called "Space Bar Blocker" It's just a small program that runs in the background and disables the space bar..

Search this form, and abletonlivedj.com for the link.. I found it on either or.

alternatively, gently pop it off with a screwdriver / knife / anything narrow.
Or have a spare usb keyboard for gigs which has the spacebar removed in this way.

Hahahahaha, that's a bit of a brute force solution there. :) It's called software for a reason. :D

Reminds me of NASA discovering bugs in their space shuttle software, and "fixing" them by simply ordering the astronauts to "never, under any circumstances, press button X at the same time as button Y". :D
