On the Website of Welt newspaper was published an article about Native Instruments Company in Berlin.

There's a very "funny" comment on the article by a user called "GITTARIST" about Ableton Live.

His opinion "No person who work's professionally in music takes things like Ableton Live serious". http://is.gd/Yba

But check it by yourself ...

well I'd say it's safe to say he's a total f*ing moron then right?

how bout trent reznor? he's made more money with electronic music than most people currently in the biz, and he uses ableton live (and probably takes it serious)

trent is one of those guys I had to ask myself "lets see, this guy has access to basically every synth ever made. He's got half of them already, and he can get the ones he doesn't have. Why the hell is he using NI massive? what a douche"

wtf? I didn't know there was a set hierarchy of stuff you neeeded to use if you owned it?

Speaking of NIN; make sure to check these videos with Alessandro Cortini of NIN.
http://www.emusician.com/videos/alessan ... nthesizer/

It's a series of four short videos - he explains why and how they use the overly sexy modulars and software. Really cool walkthrough.

All generalizations are false.

not trying to be an asshole here, I just think he'd have to be insane to use massive when he can use ANYTHING. but then I'm also one of the only people here that think nin's last few albums sounded terrible (ducks) but to be honost I think that host more to do with his voice going south than the music itself.

To add to this, Massive isn't a digital emulation of hardware or an analog emulation at all. I don't hate on digital software synths, in the respect that they aren't surpassed by analog if they aren't trying to be analog synths.

I think Massive and Zebra for instance hold up very well compared to Nord and Virus synths, but they aren't trying to be a Buchla or Moog modular.

He is very narrow minded. What is it about live that cant be taken seriously about? Its all about being creative, Live just like any other DAW is just a tool and all DAWs are just a matter a preference. Some have functions that others don't have and vice versa. That is how the companies compete with each other, offering something that the competing software doesn't have until they release there new version and the race goes on.
