Hi Guys

I have just got a new mac book pro (specs below)

I am running official ableton 5 intel update with sets off Lacie 7200rpm 500 gb hardrive and have a track which is one audio track one v station vst and one albino 3 vst and when i play quick keyboard on the albino 3 cpu usage is over 70% even cutting sound a couple of times

Can this be right!?

haven't run the hardrive off firewire 800 yet just usb but already performance is worse than my 3 year old pc laptop with much worse specs and I used a usb hardrive with that

Cheers

no, i think it's version 5.2 when they added universal binary. not 100% on that though.

Yeah in version 5 there was a 5.2 release that added supported intel (UB) release.

However, I don't think that version is multi core supportive.....

I would HIGHLY suggest moving on to version 6...it's way more efficient and stable IMO.

I have no exp. with version 7 so i can't recommend it.

your right

5.2 was the UB release and there was no multicore support until 6
so do upgrade, i noticed a massive improvement in performance from 5.2 to 7
in my macbook, so im sure your macbook pro will be great
