Anyone use the Trigger Finger with Live?

How is it?

I used one for a while, but I ultimately didn't like it. The pads were oddly sensitive and would sometimes send MIDI data when they weren't supposed to. I ended up going with the MPD 24 instead, and I couldn't be happier. YMMV!

I agree on your comment this is true to me as well! One out of three taps will almost always result in an extra one that must be edited later, this is vary annoying when you have multiple idea's and you just want the basics beat down first!

If there is anyone that knows how to correct this issue I would be vary happy!

but I have an idea that instead of running the trigger finger on usb to connect it to midi instead I think might solve the problem!

I think safe to say that jillions of people here have a TF, and use it with varying degrees of enjoyment, as with any given product.

I use one pretty much just for programming beats/automation during song composition, and it's fine for that. I personally haven't experienced the random MIDI outbursts that the other posters have mentioned, but then again I haven't used the TF in a more-vulnerable live (small el) situation so I may just have never noticed it.

I like it, it's good value for money and does what it says it should, but as Nick the Zombie said, YMMV. If I had to list cons I would say it's not of hiiiighly robust construction (which is fine for me in a studio-only setting), and the bundled Enigma software (which you can use to program it ) is... an enigma, to say the least. I rarely touch Enigma, but then I don't really need to. Live's MIDI-automapping FTW, you see.

I have one, and once you get it set up, it is good for studio work and triggering clips, levels, effects, etc... The Enigma software is a PITA to use to say the least and I am a software designer by trade so that is saying something.

Hehe, I should mention that the only reason I got one in the first place was because it was bundled with Live 5! Sweet.

Hi, bought mine 3 weeks ago and i like very much. Like ironwill i use it or various things, not only playing drumsounds. I would recommend it...

i use it. works fine once u figure out how to assign the knobs and all that. I recommend using Enigma and onboard assigning for best results. They each got their pros and cons. If u want to use more than 16 assignment programs you will eventually need to get accustomed to Enigma.

also, it's as robust as it needs to be for a midi controller. I spilled beer on it once and its still going strong. :P

Had one. got rid of it really quick. honestly, thing was garbage. get a padKontrol...or if you want something really big with knobs, get an mpd24

I have two Trigger fingers, I use them for triggering clips (not programming beats) other controllers have come on a lot in terms of features but I find them great, I also quiet like enigma makes configuring them a breeze IMO, as far as I can see I'm the only one who get on with that software.

edit: I see Tytus like it too 8)

I got one very recently. I'm not overly impressed at all actually, because there seems to be a delay between hitting the pads and the actual midi-signal triggering the sound in the DAW, which makes it difficult to use.

Mind you, saying that - I didn't really buy it for that because I don't program drums in this way. I bought it to use for triggering clips and for all the other nobs and faders on it - so in that sense it's actually quite good.
