Yes I work on music naked while looking at porn and shooting hot loads all over the gear. Now that we got that hilarious question answered, what do you guys recommend for cleaning the plastic, metal, and glass on computers and gear?

For dust i use a compressor, also use this for inside the pc.
For a quick dust removal, i use the siwffer duster stuff.
And use alcohol 70% sometimes.
To get the keyboard key's clean, i put them in a sack with biotex, and let them stay in there all night.

not real fond of them wearing shoes.
this topic is a good reason to place your studio near the kitchen.

I use some squirty spray stuff that's designed for cleaning laptop LCD screens. Kind of a gentle detergent. With the laptop screen I use lint-free opticians lens cloths, for everything else, any old rag.

I stopped having to clean much once I figured out that customized covers work wonders.
Come on... break out the sewing machine... you know you want to.
For the few things left without covers:
Yeah, a compressor for those hard to reach places, with a dust cloth for everything else.
One other thing I've found helps quite a bit:
- an air filter going in the room 100% of the time except when I'm producing
- frequent replacement of the house air filter with good filters
- no carpet
- wash your hands more
- learn how to aim (in this particular case)
(ok... that was more than one)
Good luck,

I was going to suggest just using a microfibre cloth and having a quick dust every day. Thats what I do and it seems to work fine.
But now thinking about it I would definitely recommend the photo above

I know that cleaning can be a stressful and some times emotionally draining experience, but drinking is never the answer. You need to find some one you can trust and maybe work through this...
On the other hand, when it comes to cleaning, i find that real good LSD is the way to go.. not a lot of work gets done, but i do find some very cool worlds exsist in side the dust clouds that i wouldn't have known about other wise. There are whole new and undiscovered cultures living in there with strange and inspiring musical languages..
Fuck the cleaning dude..
Tune in, Turn on and drop out!!!!
Cavet...

Boil your computer for 10 minutes. Just make sure it's dry before you turn it back on. It's better if you do this whist on LSD.
