Use a midi translation program such as
Bome's MIDI Translator / MIDI Stroke
to have that midi send a Tab keystrok

so which one would you prefer? i hate external "code"^^ just one fucking midi knob / switch, why couldnt they include it, there must be other people djing that sometimes check the waveform/clip view to read the track!?

oke i figured it out with bomes midi translator, and by pressing a midi button (-> shift + tab sequence), track view (instrument /efx) jumps to clip (waveform view) !
but this is only untill i let the button loose, then it pops back into track view!! i couldnt find any answer in the bomes manual! can anyone help me to change the view permanentely? many thanks in advance

The reason it does this is because the MIDI button is set to "momentary" style instead of "toggle".
In Bome's, when u "Capture MIDI" (to tell Bome which MIDI signal to translate), you will see two messages appear when u press and release the button.
So when u press the button to "Capture MIDI" pause before releasing it to see which message has appeared in the box.
When you release the button and see the other message appear delete that 2nd message.
Now it will work for you.

you can also put your controller in toggle mode and use midi stroke that is easy to use

Also possible with Bome's in the same way as with MIDI stroke.
Again, simple.
Either will do. I prefer Bome's as it is overall WAY more versatile. So if and when u want to do other translations besides MIDI to keystroke, you can..

Another problem with MIDI stroke is that, as far as I can see, ther is no way to make different presets.
I like to have one set of translators (a preset) for DJ style gigs and a different set for the studio etc etc.

Also Bome's is much easier to program as it allows standard editing shortcuts (ie CTRL+D is duplicate etc) and also BOME's has MIDI capture so u don't need to type in the MIDI messages u want to translate.
Much faster to work with Bome's.

just assign:
- one button to the track header (it will display the "track view": instruments/FX)
- one button to the pie (it will display the "clip view": waveforms)

I just jumped on this topic, cause I find this type of mapping very useful when DJing
