CALLING ALL UC33E USERS! FADER PROBLEM!!!

Hey people! I need some help.

I got my UC33e about one year ago and it has worked flawlessly until last week.
My fader #3 is working in a unexpected way I know I didn't programmed.
Suddenly the fader behaves as if it was in a logarithmic value scaling. Value 64, wich was before right in the middle of the fader lenght is now in the upper fourth of it. the values increase slowly as I move the fader up. in the middle it is like in 35/40 and then they begin to rise the value faster and faster un til the last 100 to 127 values are in like half milimeter!!!

I hate this behavior! Did this happened to any of you?

Just in case you are wondering: My UC33e was brand new, not used. :P

I already resetted the unit a couple of times but it keeps behaving weird :S

PLEASE! SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!

U33 i have somewhat the same problem

, and also with channel 3 of the fader.
With me it "shakes", that is, it changes of value untouched, This is especially annoying when assigning midi-functions to the faders and buttons.
Since fader 3 "shakes" it is active without necessity and claims the programming for him.

I am having it repaired by the people of m-whatever.

greetings costarica,
dick

Just to check, are you reading the values in an application or directly on the UC-33e LCD screen?

I don't know the internals of the UC-33e, but it could be that there's a hardware fault with your unit which is causing this (e.g. you can make logarithmic faders approximate linear ones by placing a resistor in parallel in the circuit - if that resistor is loose, then the fader could be giving log values). It's a long shot, but it could be a possible cause.

I can't think of any preset assignments that would cause this, e.g. LSB, MSB just set the range, not the response curve.

I'd ask M-audio...

The values in the unit's screen are behaving wrong and, because of that, the values in Live are behaving the same way. I read "35" IN the UC33e's little blue screen when the fader is right half way to top, the fader in Live is avidently quite low and not in the middle of the fader range.

Yeah, give M-audio a call and get it replaced if you can...
