Use Max MSP, Bitstream, Ableton midi mapping

Hi,
I have a bitstream and heve been using it in combination with ableton with a lot of succes. Anything that's not possible I cover up with a small patch in Max MSP (in the future i'll maybe buy midi translator (http://www.bome.com/midi/translator/osx.html)
For now I suggest everyone give me you wishes and I'll ge maxing, maybe programm a standalone...? Good plan? I am very busy but who knows in a couple of months we'll be sending rockets at the pentagon with these patches....
One more thing: Has anyone been able to make ableton react to user programmed curves of midi controller information?
I would like the 128 steps to become 48 or 16 or whatever so you never miss a cue when your adjusting loop sizes with rotary controllers. You should be able to superimpose 128 steps onto a smaller amount, os skip sections or whatever...any idea's anyone?
Kind regards,
doppelganger
