Is this possible in ableton?

I am looking for a way to skip ahead or back 8 bars in a track by pressing a keyboard button or using midi. I would like to do this in a live set without it starting a loop so the track continues to play out. I have tried assigning warp markers and adding midi assignments to them with no luck. I've heard it can be done using mackie contols which my current controller (Axiom49) doesn't support. Any other ways?

Set global quantisation to 8 bars and then use the clip nudge buttons to jump 8 bars forward/backwards. Clip loop can be off if you want.

i need someone to punch me in the face repeatedly.
I did not realize the nudge buttons were "global" so to speak. Meaning when you map to them in one clip it controls all the clips, so you can nudge around in a song no sweat.
This just might be the best day of my life.
Thanks 80!

Thanks for the fast answer. Really appreciate it.
This may be asking too much, but is there a way to do this (skip 8 bars ahead) in one track, and launch another track that will lead in with the 1 bar time that i've gotten used to? (without having to constantly change the global quant.)
Thanks again

yes, clips can have their own quantize setting that overrides the global setting.
