Hi guys,
I was wondering what settings people are using to get basic expression with the MPD32 pads when using it with Drum Racks.
What are you guys setting the Velocity percentage to in Simpler/Sampler and what settings have you found to be the best on the MPD pads.
I Have.
Velocity to 100% Simpler/Sampler
Pad Sens 10
Pad Curve_A
Pad Thresh_3
Cheers.

I didn't think about checking Simp/Samp and adjust their velocity settings.. I'm still not completly happy with the MPD32's velocity reaction. It's either to sensitive or not sensitive enough. I tend to use my Remote SL25 for drumming it has much smoother response. My MPC 1k Blk has a better velocity feel that the MPD32.. I do like the many knobs/faders on board and the different banks make it very useful. If if wasn't for that factor I would've gone for the Korg PadKontrol.
Another problem is I can't use Guru 1.5.9 in standalone mode with the MPD32... I checked Guru's forum and admin from FX says its on Akai's side and they were hoping to have a work around till Akai fixes it..... But it does work as a plug in.... Maybe the latest update 1.5.12 has fix it.. I only have the demo and it only goes up to 1.5.9.....

I've just messed with the velocity in the piano roll. MPD does seem kinda hard to get the right feel, but I thought it was just me getting used to the setup.

I have found this to set up to give me the best expression so far, although it's a work in progress to get the MPD32 to feel right for me but it's getting there.
I set the Drum Rack faders to default to -16 or -18, with a full level hit this won't peak the channel.
I have the sampler/simpler volume to the default -12
I have the sampler/simpler velocity set to 100%
MPD padsettings are:
PAD SENS 16
PAD CURVE A
PAD THRESH 1
