I just uploaded a new song to my myspace page. Come and have a listen. It takes a while to get started, but if you're patient it'll pick up. The vocals are me reading the top of my Edirol Interface because I didn't want to bother writing lyrics.

Thank you thank you thank you for replying! I've been posting here for a while, with no replies (but then again, I never reply to the music I check out. I should change that) The complete lyrics are:

"6 in 6 out 24 bit 1 9 kilohertz audio capture FA-66"

And then,

"This class B (maybe I said "8") digital apparatus meets all requirements of"

Like I said, I just read the top of my interface.

I don't think it's 100% finished yet, but I probably won't tweak it for a couple months after I make some more songs. I may add some extra vocals in place of the repeating lines (maybe I'll borrow your line!) and I'll probably change the second drum part a bit. I'll just sit on it and see what it does for me later.

How do you do that vocal effect, been wanting to do sumin similar for ages, but havent been able to work out how to do it.

psychohagis: I used a program called Zerius Vocoder. It's pretty nice for a free program (but pretty limited). It basically takes a pre-recorded synth melody track (in this case one I made using one of the synth instruments that came with Live) and a pre-recorded vocal track and merges them. If you're really interested and don't know anything about what I'm talking about let me know and I'll PM you.

You're welcome for the response. When I first listened to it, the beginning totally reminded me of a video game - but I couldn't figure it out. Now I have, it reminds me of The Sims2 when I used to play it way back when it first came out. My friend plays TheSims2 a lot, so I'll have to send this track to him.

The vocals are really cool, and I would have never guessed that is what you were saying.

You should totally list this thing up for download.

Silwolffe: Video games are a major influence in the stuff I make. Living in Japan which has a bustling videogame-ish music scene also has an effect. I must say I've never played The Sims 2, so I'll try to track that down and see what the music's like.

As for putting things up for download, I wait until I have enough material for an album and then put the whole thing up for free download.
