Yes. Very possible.
How do you want to sync? Via midi or ethernet or what?

mainly - get a midi cable. plug it into the midi out of the edirol, and the midi in of the fasttrack. open live's preferences, midi tab, select mdi sync on the edirol OUT and on the other machine on the fast track IN.
on the computer with the fast track click on the "ext" button beside the bpm counter. done.
Now the fast track is slave to the edirol.
You can do it the other way round, for sure.

i've heard that you can sync by ethernet. how could two Macbook Pros do this? that would free my buddy and i up from the MIDI cable and make for some more interesting staging possibilities. : )
on the same note...

not sure about the 1 sound card thing but this is the easiest way to sync two macs.
we took an ethernet cable and plugged each end into our computers. (im basically going to repeat that vimio video). we went to the utilities folder under applications (on our macs(macbookpro osx10.4.11)) and in the applications folder opened up the audio/midi icon. in there there is a network setup. only one computer needs to activate the network (and by the way ours has not worked when also using a wireless internet connection at the same time) once the computer name appears in the participants section you should be connected. in ableton go to the midi sync tab. you should see a new midi device (network). enable output sync for master and input sync for slave. once both people have ableton up and running and the slave has ext button in the top right on(yellow) then once the master computer presses play the slave should be connected with him.
the just run the audio from each computer into a mixer

yeh it works sweet, turn both metronomes on and adjust the offset in the master ableton maachines midi clock prefs, so its locked tight. u can use wifi, but ethernet will be more reliable.
