Hi

Sorry this is not an ableton question but am short of time and only go on this forum. I am trying to get sound to come out my speakers in Garage band.

I have a macbook pro and motu 828 mk2 soundcard and in all other applications such as ableton, i tunes (even just general noises when you click on something with the mouse) sound is coming out my external speakers attached to the motu yet in Garage band it is only coming out of the motu headphones and I can't seem to change it as in garage band I can only seem to select the sound card not the indiidual out puts.

The motu is set up for making everything else come out the speakers why not garage band?

Cheers

Maybe try opening System Preferences on your MBP, and change the computers audio output to the built-in sound card. Then open Garageband, open its preferences, and choose the MOTU as the program's audio output.

Here's the path:

Top left corner apple > System Preferences > Sound > Output Tab > Built-in Audio

In Garageband:

Garageband menu > Preferences... > Audio/MIDI tab > Audio Output: menu choose the 828.

go to utilities flder
double click on audio/midi set up
choose 828 as your core audio device

the system prefs is not the place to do this operation
