Hey,

I have owned Ableton Live 7 a week (never touched production before), and have created a trance track. I am a COMPLETE noob, but spent a few hours putting this together after learning the basics of Live, and adding a few VST's.

Hoping I could get feedback from people, what I need to learn, improve on etc...

As I said, I ave only had Ableton a week and havent spent much time on it...

Hey joshie, gave ur tune a listen.

Its clear uve only scratched the surface of lives capibilties, however this is pretty good a week out of the box.

Me and my band-mate were working on stuff for about 4/5 months before we were happy to put it in the public domain, but then, were perfectionists.

Course this meant we didnt upload our first song until we though we could nothing more to improve it. Striving for this meant we discovered a lot of the effects in live plus some tips and tricks.

So my only advice, is keep making music. I think weve got 28 live sets now but only 3 songs are finished really.

All this philosophical crap aside, their is some practical advice I can give you. Your song as nice as the melodies and everything are doesnt sound very full. If you use the spectrum audio effect on the master channel it will show you what volume levels you have for all the frequencies.

You need to balance sharp electronic sounds out with richer accoustic sounds.

But yh, good first attemp with live, keep on experimenting.
