How about Audio To Midi ...

I've been looking around the net and so far there is nothing around that does it right or even close to.
how about an ableton instrument that turns any audio tracks to Midi notes.
This would enable any one to record a nice guitar solo(or any audio track and have that guitar solo turned into midi to become and synth lead solo that double it or that is reused somewhere else all together.
That would be a great addition to Live. And the reason why i am asking that to Ableton is just because when they put their minds to it it is always amazing.
thank you
Santa :)

I would love this!!
Melodyne resynth of audio would be amazing too. I'm sure it could be licensed as an add in tool if the politics were worked out.

Hummm...
Such a thing is really not easy to do. It involves FFT and is very CPU intensive, and is not really easy and automatic to set up...
Some plugins do that.
I personnaly made that kind of patch in plogue, but it's not convincing...
