toggle overdub via midicontrol?

hello everybody.

i've a question cencerning my midi controller setup (akai mpk 49).

i like to play loops over and over again, than swich on overdub to record it in an existing clip without stopping the loop.
and sometimes i like to record only parts of a loop and different parts later on. therefore it's practical to have a toggle to switch overdub on and off directly on the midi controller. i decided to use the fast forward button for that purpose.

but it doesn't work like a toggle. i can switch overdub on, but i can't switch it off again. : \

if i use a letter of the computer keyboard instead, it DOES work like a toggle.

any ideas??

thnx.

"Read The F***ing Manual!!!!"

i thought i had to configure live instead of the controller.
the manual says it sould work.

page 27 (in the german manual)

i will check it out after work.

thanks.

btw. what's so funny about my name?!?
and why did you own it only for a few weeks, didn't you like it?

just for everyone who's interested:

i couldn't define the transport button (fast forward) to be a toggle, but every other control button works fine.

jobbies come out of bums mate... i need a jobbie, i did a jobbie!

i found the akai to be a bit to fuckabouty to program and too big for me... switched for the sl 25 compact which has more options with things like assigning tobble to any button etc + i can shift it easily and have it on my lap. not really a key player though!

so I came out of a bum.... didn't know that.. :|

no big keyplayer either, i would say. but for finding right chords i find it good to have some more keys.
i also like the faders, so i guess i will stick with it.
cheers.
