How do I edit certain parts of audio in Live 3.0.4?

so, looked at my manual.

consolidate and split can used for a similar thing....very interesting. i didn't know that could be done...

i'm just a beginner too :)

for me this is a fundamental part of using ableton live. i'm surprised the other posters didn't suggest it.

This indeed is the "obvious" solution, but not the most handy one when working with large files as Black Caesar suggested where you only need a small part out of
