1st Track on http://www.myspace.com/soundbolt called Hang

I have a blog that shows a someone playing the real thing so if you've never heard about this instrument its worth reading about just google Hang Drum and you will find tons of videos and info about it......

The sample library for Live 7 by Soniccouture is really fun to play.....

Awesome. That track does the trick.

And as much as I hate hippies that hang drum sounds pretty cool.

Thanks SB...... Yea I just discovered this instrument and I'm far from a hippie but I've seen my fair share of Panic... Phish..... String Cheese... The Dead.... etc.... and I wish I had a Hang Drum in the parking lot of those shows it would've turned some heads and created a nice circle......

not bad attempt.

check this one out though, i guy called Timo Garcia got together with Manu Dalago and come up with this little belter.

you need to hear the whole song to hear what it can do, if every other fucker wasnt jumping on the Hang Drum Wagon, I'de have a go at doing a tune with one.

Yes Timo represents the Hang Drum well... and it seems that he has the real instrument... I'm still blown away how accurate Soniccouture came to the original sound quality of the Hang Drum.... They have 8 macros set up one called a jammer which basically engages the Arp... and then it has a Pitch, attack and decay... now this one is nice the Strike by twisting the knob it changes to different
strikes with the hand to the drum so with some automation this can be handy to get different sounds..... and of course it has Filter type and Filter/Res.....

Thanks for checking out my tune... I completed the whole tune this morning with a cup of joe... well about 4 cups..... but I downloaded it last night and jammed around with it... I also purchased Konkrete 2 which is nice as well Soniccouture makes some very good sample libraries....

Overall you bring up a good point because this instrument came really be over used due to their not being many other tones available its quite a simple instrument...

But I will say this regardless of the overly used bit... the hang drum has a special quality to the tone that is mesmerizing its just fun to play... its limitations make it easy to create melodic noise...... I will keep my eyes peeled for this instrument if it ever came my way and that might be a while.....

I believe their is something similar to the Hang Drum can anyone comment....

Saw a wicked hang drum duo play at the Glade festival. Beautiful!

It struck me that they are like an instrument from an alien culture -- ET's with tentacles would strap them to their chest and play deeep deep music in an Aurthur C Clarke novel.

/hippy
