Theres a place on Oranienburgerstrasse called Tacheles...its an artist collective and has studios to rent for really cheap, and focused on international artists.

Their lease was supposed to end this year, but they're still going, and trying to come up with a proposal to extend their lease with the city council.

If they lose their lease, the council was supposedly going to find them new premises...

I don't really know what's happening there right now, I left Berlin 6 months ago, but it could be worth giving them a ring. Either they'll still be accepting applications, or they'll be able to tell you what the current state of play is.

click on space on the menu for info about the studios....

it's a really interesting place actually....here's some wikipedia goodness about it.....

A guy called gerald is based in there, i think, lol
