:(

Holy shit. All i had was a radio. Missed the first 40 minutes. McCain sounded like he was copying Ronald Reagan's calm voice. Obama was stuttering. Obabma spoke facts and strategies. McCain just attacked his opponent. He said over and over again "What Obama doesn't understand is..."

It bored the crap out of me after 6 minutes 27 seconds. I turned over and watched Law and Order Criminal Intent which in spite of being one of the weakest cop shows around was significantly more interesting.

It was a horrible debate. Both men do not debate well.

From Obama, "America has lost its stature all over the world."

From McCain, "Sen. Obama is naive."

From Obama, "The greatest threat to America is a nuclear bomb showing up in a suitcase."

From McCain, "Putin is KGB."

From Obama, "In the 1960s America was viewed as a place of promise and dreams."

From McCain, "I know how to deal with our friends, and enemies."

From Obama, "Our healthcare system is broken."

From McCain, "I want to give you a 5000 dollar tax cut to pay for healthcare."

Where did McCain kick ass? It is apparent that Sen. McCain has more knowledge about many aspects of foreign policy. Where is it apparent that McCain would make a better President? Where is it apparent that Obama would?

Its not. Bad debate, both men debate poorly.

I gave McCain's Performance a B+ and Obama gets a C.

The election still favors the Dems, Sen. Obama won by default.

The next round of debates will be more important than this first one.

Cheers...

(edit)

Btw, it is my belief that Sen. Obama's statements reflect the current situation in the USA, far more than the statements of Sen. McCain.

The verdict is still out. Can't judge a Presidency before it happens.

These guys are calling different plays from the same playbook. Two sides of the same coin and nearly everyone is falling for it. This is not going to end well.

Okay... its fact check time.

Here's a link to an article with a bit of fact checking involved (applies to both candidates)

godfuckingdamnit. Democrats are pussies, the guy that doesn't get the girl, and as much background and fact checking as people on this form can do it doesn't matter, it's what the average joe and jane gets from the media.

Regardless, this country may sink and I should go down with it because none of us can decide where we are born.

In closing, fuck it.

(an let's be honest, regardless of who is president it's only going to effect the rich and super rich, I am neither. And sadly, people at the receiving end of our military, again, I am not military either)

People keep saying this, but its important to back this comment with substance, as in what are they actually the same on???

Mostly they have similar fundamental views on foreign policy, with exception on Iraq and exception on communication.

The major differences may seem small when thought of globally, but we domestic issues are just as important.

There are key things to consider especially with issue to economy...

McCain in the debate says he wants to freeze and reduce government spending. Under republican leadership this means cutting off community based programs (but not including faith based programs). Obviously this is not going to affect the masses, as it is the poorest and most disadvantaged communities that benefit. Many of these communities you will not see voicing opinions in our forums because some do not have access to computers.

Other differences including spending on education. McCain is for a system of education that supports stipends given to families to choose which school to go to instead of funding public schools. While this sounds good in some ways, it adversely affects the poorest communities because even with a stipend, it will not cover the total cost of private schools and in turn reduces funding for supplies, books and teacher salaries, all key to a successful education. If there is anyone one thing this world can agree on about the United States, it is that our education system is lacking.

They differ on health care, they differ on energy, they differ on alternative fuels as a reduction of reliance on foreign oil.

As more and more things that we as a population rely upon become increasingly expensive, and has increasing greatened the gap between the wealthy and the poor, it is these issues people are looking at most closely.

While it is not correct to say the poor would be ignored by either party, it is clear that the Democratic party has the most interest in providing support to those in dire need.

It was a vastly different system before George Bush came into power and after assuming power major cuts have been made to community programs across the country. Much of those funds have been diverted to funding faith based programs and abstinence only programs that have been proven ineffective.

So again, make sure you are clear about what issues you view as being the same, as there is much at stake depending on who is control.
