Live stops working crashes but the program is still running in task manager.. a total reboot is required..
I fixed it by using asio for all instead of my native sound drivers.

How does it not work? I mean the process still shows in the current running processes or it just freezes up your comp?

I had the same thing happen a while ago.
Make sure you're not running anything in corollary with Live that keeps running after you shut down Live or it crashes.
Also, make sure you're not running a Pirated copy of Live.

Hi,
On windows, it happens that a driver prevents the Live process to be killed. Turn OFF or disconnect your MIDI controller/sound card, and the Live process should vanish.
Kind regards,
Amaury

I don't think it's related to the Trigger Finger, because it happens also with other devices. I believe it's a Windows problem, but we're looking at it on our side. Without much success so far.

Amaury

ZOMG! yes. on either my pc or laptop, if i've been running Live for a few hours, it won't close normally; it will crash.
That is to say, when I save and close, Live will only die after spamming End Task several times. It's like I have to choke it to death.
This has happened consistently on XP SP2; I don't remember if it happened on my Win2K, i want to say yes.
So fix this Ableton.
