i have a macbook pro
everything is on the internal hd

I want to move all of my samples and live sets from the internal drive to an external drive
reinstall OSX
then install live etc... and stream all of my samples from the external drive
esentially picking up where I left off.

...now if i was doing this on a PC I would be more than confident
first time doing this since switching to MAc

Im a little dubious

Any best practice/experience of people who have done this?
Any issues/pitfalls i should be aware of?

search for this issue was tricky
Any thread pointing would be well received

also considering upgrading to osx 5 from 4 ? wise choice?

IT'll probably be easier than it was on Windows, the only main difference is that the files are located in a different place. There should be no issues though, very straight forward, just drag them back on the HD int he same place when you're done.

ok so move across...
Ableton Library
and all of my samples

Then place the Library back on the internal drive keepin the samples on the external and pointing the sets to their location?

What files other files am I missing here if any?
