Does anybody else hate Beatport

Get a tune a few weeks ago, and only the first 2 mins of it downloaded.

I thought no prob's, will just re-download it.

But no, it wouldn't let me.

So I e-mailed Beatports customer support.... 4 times now in 4 weeks.

It's now been 2 months and I still have had no reply.

Unfortunately Beatport is the only place to by this tune, so I had to download it illegally (not too bothered about that since I have already paid for it).

Will never use that site again, other than to hold things in a crate until I can find them elsewhere.

Had troubles downloading from Track It Down, DJDownload etc before, but they always responded in days or let you have a second attempt for free.

Anyone else had trouble with these peeps?

I love those fuckers...

No complaints from me. I've found them to have some of the best customer service, right up there with the Abes, and Apple...

And Beatport Dianne, if you read this, come to Miami where the grass is green and you'll always be pretty. I'll show you the light and together we could spark some thought and drift in silence.

I even told them I hate them. exactly same problem. started d/l a tune, connection hanged up, next day found it's impossible to re-d/l , wrote an email, then another 3 or 4 ... way after I gave up and bought it again. shame

I bought something for the first time off Beatport last night and although I got the tracks ok, it was such a convoluted process, such unnecessary complication, that it even drained my energy to write a complaint email. I'll just avoid using them in the future, if possible.

Territory restrictions do my head in.

Also i hate yu have to buy your whole basket... sometimes i like to store stuff , but say i have a show coming up and theres only 1 or 2 tracks out the 50 or 60 i want... but dont want to buy everything!!

The flash interface is actually pretty good for what it does i have to say.

Some amount of shite on their though.

never had any problems downloading. The new beatport downloader app is pretty handy (at least now you can save tracks with proper "artist - trackname" titles).
The site is a bit slow to browse but it does the job of being able to quicky find and preview tracks. The $1,- = 1 euro pricing is a bit ridiculous though, and of course some of the territory restrictions as well, although that's probably more the labels' fault.

I've had exactly the opposite experience, contacted customer support twice for downloading problems and twice have been given really great customer support. Just like to even the thread out. I normally buy WAV tracks and accidently ordered the lot as mp3, contacted support and they changed them all to WAV (just cost me the bit extra you normally have to pay for WAVS)

Just don't use that beatport downloader, it can't recover from partially downloaded files and it just thinks you've got them all. My mac accidently went to sleep during download, there as hould be an option to make the computer not sleep when downloading, that would be cool

It's a shame that they destroyed the record industry, but it was inevitable. If they hadn't done it, someone else would have. It's just part of the evolution I guess.

I like Beatport, apart from the already mentioned territory restrictions and the 1$=1euro pricing. Their customer support was really good to me. Can't complain...

Destroyed the record industry? And cassettes killed the 8 track industry and CDs killed the cassette industry. Evolve. Let it go. Vinyl jockeys are about the only people I hear complain "I invested in this technology 10 years ago and now I can't find hardly anything for it." Well, except my mom who can't get Microsoft Office to install on her OS 9 raspberry iMac.

That's basically what I said, if your post was directed to me.
