More grooves and the ability to apply them to both MIDI and audio clips would be nice.

Track individual swing percentages would be nice as well.

what we really need here is user grooves. the ability to create a midi groove from peaks from an audio file, and then have the ability to store them in the file browser for later use.

This is a feature that Reason has utilized for years. AND IT'S AWESOME. There's nothing like being able to take a drum track from a blues or funk, or jazz song, and with the timing from the peaks to be applied as a MIDI quantize. Even cooler would be a MIDI plugin you can insert on a MIDI track and then select from a library of custom created user grooves, and be able to turn a knob and apply the quantize by percentage without changing the actual midi note timing in the clip.

HOW BOUT IT? ANY WITH ME ON THIS ONE?
THIS WOULD BE A FAVOR APPRECIATED BY EVERYONE!!!

THIS WOULD LITERALLY MAKE THE SWING FEATURE GET REAL DUSTY. KNOW WHAT I MEAN?

Totally!! =)

Just having a list of preset default grooves (bossa nova, 2-step, conga, polyrhythm, etc. etc.) and the ability to apply them to select parts of audio or midi tracks to manipulate the rhythms would be amazing.

user grooves easily imported and exported in a bulk - see how Akai users were proud of theirs.

midi and keyboard realtime control over changing of the groove applied in rt on midi and acidized wav etc

very Live

No. How does it work?

is there a workaround in Live?

The Groove Painter tool in Acid allows you to select a rhythm groove (either from presets or custom) and 'paint' it over sections of or over an entire audio or MIDI track.

You can get some really interesting effects this way, because it stretches, stutters and generates rhythms not in the original loop, using the sounds in the track/loop...

As for workarounds in Live, no...but there is something sort of similar which is making a track the 'master tempo clip' or something. Cool, but not the same at all...search the forum for 'groove painter' or just the word groove with the 'search all terms' option selected...

So it's Cubase's groove control.

+1

i have been waiting for this for soooo long.. almost all sequencers on the market has
user-definable groove-templates (cubase/logic/reason/renoise/sonar).. since there are already swing-patterns i guess the time to implement customization of the swing patterns would be really cheap implementationwise compared to the usefulness of the feature..
