I have Live 7 working with my Motif midi wise but I am unable to change my sound from with in Live 7. I notice in clip it lets you change program and sub program which mean I am able to change sound banks for my Motif but it does not do that.

I have been searching on this forum and I notice a lot of people are having the same problem and then get if fixed but do not say what they did to fix the problem. So could someone please give me a hand?

Computer: PC w/XP
Motif ES 8 connected usb to computer for midi.
M-Audio 410 for audio recording

Live 7 works with my Motif midi wise so I just need help understanding what I need to do to be able to change sound banks inside Live 7.

Oh and I am new to Live came from Logic Pro 8 so I do understand a little bit of midi.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure the Live doesn't send program changes so you wouldn't be able to change sound banks from within Live. Correct me if I am wrong.

WOW, that sucks because that would be nice for a lot of people including me that have keyboards and don't like to have to save in two places. I sent a e-mail to Abelton I will post what they tell me and I hope they tell me what I want to hear.

Thanks

Hi Don,

Live sends out program change messages upon clip launch. You need to trigger the clip´s play button again, so that the program/bank messages are sent to the specified output port.

Best,

Jörg

Yeah, I tried that maybe I am not doing something right. When I get home I will try that again to see if it works. Do I just hit the play button on the channel or the master play button. I have tried the clip button play and nothing happen.

Thanks for your input will try again.

Hi Don,
hitting the clip´s play button should trigger the program/bank change.
