let's say i have a melody with several different notes.
i want to have 1 key (midi or computer keyboard) that plays
note 1 when i press it for the first time, note 2 when i press
it the second time and so on...
so i want to play the melody by just typing the rhythm
of the melody on one key. i am shure i can do this in live,
but i don't find a way how...

Chord may not actually be everything you need here. You are requesting a strange may of making a tune but a combo of arp, chord and scale may do the trick.

agreed with moody...what you're looking for is a sequence that you trigger with some intelligence or scripting build in - I suspect you'd need Plogue Bidule or Max or some other intelligent scheme to get this to work.
Another option might be to run EnergyXT as a vsti plugin inside Live and use it's sequencer.

I think Bjorn of the Covert Ops did a tutorial on this a while back. Round Robin. That's what the technique is called. Search their site for it.

Track Team's Fib02 Sequencer may help you out as well. Although it may not be exactly what you are looking for. Or maybe it is.

It's somewhere within his arp series...

well, i found that i can do it by fireing scenes with "starting scene selects
next scene" ON using Enter or with the "fire selected" assignment, but this
is not very elegant, because you have to fill your whole set with clips
containing single notes...
so i am looking for a step sequencer that goes to the next step every time
it receives a certain midi note.
and you know what ?
i completely forgot that i own Reaktor !!!

I've done something similar to what you describe, if you first place the midi device "random", then "scale" you should be able to do it. This was a method I picked up from picking apart at Puremagnetik's Kamoni pack....which you can download free from their site if you register.

i've played around with what you describe. it's fun.
but what i want now is not random notes, but a
"programmed" note order.

their is a mid effect called random
you can set it up to do a round robin
to play notes in a sequential order
then use a drum rack to play samples or
load in a synth on each cell and reroute the midi notes to the notes you want to play using the drum rack.
prolly other ways too but this seams to work

coupe- by placing scale after random....you can program the order of the notes you want, you can manually move the yellow square to whatever note you wish, then in random you would set the probability to 100, set the number of notes you want it to cycle through with the "choices" and "scale" dials, then change to setting "alt" from "rnd".
