I think most of these Kicks are layered alltogether...
So on a rainy afternoon, crank your speakers and search your hd for those kicks, start layering.
do it loud (!)

To be honest mate i had the same problem for a while. Ableton presets or hardly any presets just dont sound good enough to be honest. You can try creating a kick drum sound yourself, they usually are made from a click, a dry kick and then a "boom" effect. When you ve got something your happy enough with try side chaining, theres loads of tutorials on the net. Deadmau5 and glen morrison use this to great advantage.
I currently use all the samples from Battery 3, loaded into drum racks in ableton then tweak with some reverbs compressors etc. At the end of the day i wouldnt just sample someone elses kicks, isnt the whole point of music to be creative and different, think outside the box, as there are currently 10000s of minimal/tech producers out there id say do your own thing.
hope any of this helps.
safe...

thank you for your answers,,,and yeah, I am not into sampling people's records, cause the sounds are never 100% clear of other sounds, and that would not even be fun if they were.. I like to tweak the 808 bd and toms, or use the newscool in reaktor which makes interesting things too. Sometimes I create drums from a synth. I was just wondering what you would prefer for that type of music. Maybe there is some cool drum machine I have not tried yet.

We now use a fully customized set of "secret stash" sounds - basically deriving anything from small quick kicks to enormous booms from a (rather large) library of drum loops from old records, weird synths and such.
the point here is that ANY source can give you high quality sounds, as long as you tweak them right.
I recommend grabbing a quirky synth and taking it from there - something that will really fuck up if you randomize parameters and so on, and then resample, resample, resample.

All i can say really mate is just let work what works for you, by this i mean just experiment, try to get something to call your own.
Im working on this track at the moment with this RIDICULOUS drummer, when i mean good i mean fucking good, doing some tech house/dubstep with a bit of drum and bass, nothing comes even close to how good a properly recorded live drummer is.

nah, bullshit. isn't the actual goal in minimal techno to sound like the other
476 releases this week ?!
c'mon, sample the current top 10 sales charts on a given online record store
and go along. Make sure to adopt the patent receipt of clonky shuffle grooves.
they just can't get enough of it......
