Arturia Analog 3 / V Collection crashes 10.0.2?
Arturia Analog 3 / V Collection crashes 10.0.2?
Since the 10.0.2 update all projects containing Arturia Analog 3 or Arturia V Collection 6 crash on load. Tested on multiple systems.
If I start a new project and try to load Analog 3 or V Collection 6 some presets will work, others will not, and Live 10.0.2 eventually crashes.
This was not an issue on 10.0.1 -- literally everything worked fine before the update today.
Anyone else?

I have scoped this issue further to Ableton 10.0.2.
Loading the same Analog 3 and V Collection 6 plugins in Logic Pro X, everything works fine.

I had this same issue with Korg LegacyCell and reported it in the Beta.
So now what Ableton have done is just flagged it as "unsupported" so now LegacyCell does not even load in Live. Worked fine in L9, just not L10.
Could be the same thing. I'm not really understanding how things like this can just be unsupported in a host.

Confirmed -- it's a 10.0.2 issue.
I take full system snapshots of my machines daily and just tried reverting to yesterdays snapshot containing 10.0.1. Everything worked fine.
10.0.2 breaks support for Arturia plugins.

It may be confirmed for your case but I just tested Arturia on my system (I have the V4 collection) but I could load analog lab 3 without issue.mcnitt wrote:Confirmed -- it's a 10.0.2 issue.

Yes, I failed to specify -- this is for macOS High Sierra (10.13.4) with Arturia Analog Lab 3 (latest 3.1.0.1391) and V Collection 6 (latest).jestermgee wrote:It may be confirmed for your case but I just tested Arturia on my system (I have the V4 collection) but I could load analog lab 3 without issue.mcnitt wrote:Confirmed -- it's a 10.0.2 issue.

For Mac people if you experience this or any other issues and have Time Machine or another backup, you can the restore the old 10.0.1 app, launch and disable auto updates in preferences.
Time Machine saves my bacon once again. Lesson learned -- no Ableton auto updates!

For cross reference, the issue posted on the Arturia V Collection 6 forum: https://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=92874.0

Re: Arturia Analog 3 / V Collection crashes 10.0.2?
Same wonkiness and crashes happen to me using V Collection 6 plugins in Live 10.0.2 (I'm running MacOS Sierra 10.12.6). When I revert back to 10.0.1, I'm back to normal.
For those who don't have a Time Machine backup, you can re-download 10.0.1 directly from Ableton:
http://downloads.ableton.com/channels/1 ... 0.1_64.dmg
Hope this gets fixed - either by Arturia or in Live 10.0.3!

Additional test information -- 10.0.2 crashes with both AU and VST versions of Arturia plugins.
The 10.0.2 release notes list a number of bug fixes related to AU plugins, so I decided to test using Arturia VST plugins instead to see if the 10.0.2 issues are limited to AU. Unfortunately, the same crashes occur with Arturia VST plugins as well.

10.0.2 bug fixes relating to plugins
- AU plug-in default presets (.aupreset files) were no longer shown in the Live 10 browser.
- Fixed a problem which might prevent AU presets from recalling correctly.
- AU plug-in parameters might behave erratically when being controlled with the mouse, under certain circumstances.
- Live would crash when an AU plug-in instance which couldn't be loaded was removed from a Set.
- Fixed a scenario where Push 2's display could crash when hot-swapping AU plug-in presets.
Re: Arturia Analog 3 / V Collection crashes 10.0.2?
Hi McNitt,
Ableton staff posted an update on the AU issues on the beta forum. Unfortunately the fix for this issue did not make it in time for 10.0.2.
Implementation is scheduled for the next beta, which will be released soon (indicated around 1 or 2 weeks from now).
Best,
daiz

Re: Arturia Analog 3 / V Collection crashes 10.0.2?
Just searched the beta forums and found this report about Arturia, "Live hangs loading Arturia VSTs grouped to an instrument rack". The issue presented on both Windows and Mac. The bug was fixed on Windows but not Mac. For anyone curious, you can join the beta in your user account, then be able to view the thread below.daizok wrote:Hi McNitt,

The title of the issue is misleading as the poster later discovered that the Arturia plugin does not need to be in an instrument rack, however if the track contains both an Arturia plugin and an effect, then Ableton 10.0.2 will crash. If a track contains only an Arturia plugin with no additional effects, Ableton does not crash.
So this seems to be an Ableton Live issue, not an Arturia issue.
