channel pressure
channel pressure
i'm playing a little bit with it. i see support only in sampler. is there any way to use it in other live instruments or effects?
Re: channel pressure
i solved problem by myself. i'm using midiConverter3 from pizmidi set: http://www.thepiz.org/dl/?p=vst#pizmidi
for anyone interested on mapping channel pressure (channel aftertouch) into different parameter (pitch bend in that example) please install midiConverter3 vst and set its controls as:
- input type: channel pressure
- output type: pitch bend
- thru: block converted
then change input type and input channel on any midi instrument into midiConverter3.
using cc is more tricky. it requires iac bus to be activated in system (for pc users i assume there are alternatives) plus setting "remote on" on its input and "track on" on its output in midi prefs. the add additional new midi empty track, choose midiConverter3 on input type/channel and output type to iac bus (this is just for routing, do not put any instrument/effect there). and change vst on paramteres on midi track where midiConverter resides to:
- output type: cc
- out param 1: 32
- intertia: at least 1
now you can map any of ableton object. i tried "send a" in my tests. mapping is tricky also:
- please choose fader/knob you want to map (it should have 4-corners marking). do NOT enter midi mapping yet!
- keep note at full pressure
- pull note and quickly press cmd-m
- do it almost at the same time but pulling note should precede cmd-m (try until cc 56 will appear in map list)
good luck.
