Re: Chords & Vocals
This is a pretty indirect solution, but you could try right clicking your acapella (assuming it's recorded already) then convert melody or harmony to MIDI. Clean up the midi notes and pop in whatever sound you want, then you should be left with a pretty solid foundation upon which you can build ...

Re: studio monitor hum when computer monitor is on?
i'd start with balanced cables and go from there. this alone made an enormous difference for me.sphinxxx wrote:I believe my 1/4 inch cable from the interface to the left monitor is not balanced, and perhaps a balanced plug would solve the issue as well.

Re: saffire / usb audio after sleep mode
thanks for the info philipc. at least good to know it is not a machine specific issue. haven't heard back from focusrite support yet.

saffire / usb audio after sleep mode
I have a little annoyance with my new focusrite saffire 6 usb audio interface. When I resume after sleep mode (I deactivate the automatic sleep, so sleep by choice), if I try to open and playback audio from any application, the audio sounds bit reduced/smashed/distorted/rough/?. I have found if I ...

Re: My God - I am going to go mad . . .
I went thru the exact same learning experience the last few days with the saffire usb 6 and a new samsung qx410-s02 laptop. Determined it to be a crappy power supply with the laptop, good to know the proper method to break the ground loop, opposed to the 3-2 prong trick - don't want to get zapped ...

Re: padKontrol ToggleRack
i think you are missing something; the pads still don't stay lit. they can only be lit constantly by sending repeated notes to the pads - hold down a pad and you'll see it doesn't light for the duration it's held; it only flashes once. so i got around this originally by using a rack of arpeggiators ...

Re: padKontrol ToggleRack
Can you not just use the "External Instrument" device instead? Along the same lines, create an instrument rack, one chain with your usual drum rack, the other chain simply an "External Instrument" device, nothing else - with the midi out set to "padKONTROL CTRL" and the appropriate channel, and ...

Re: slice audio to multiple audio files?
A "slice to clip" feature similar to "slice to midi" would be nice. I was trying to figure out if that was possible too, hmmmm. I'm trying to organize my mess of a drum sample library into a single "drums" project session view, a kick track, snare track, etc etc, filled with individual clips. That ...

Re: Controlling an external MIDI instrument (Korg Triton)
I'm pretty new to Ableton (first post!), though have a Triton Le and previously used Sonar as well. So maybe I can help, or maybe I can learn something here as well ;-)
I setup a default External Instrument device for my T.Le so I can always just drag and drop it to a midi track when needed and ...
