Re: Crop Clip function with Push
+1, and/or, on the clip page add a "clip-start" selector (working like LoopStrt/Position/Length) ..

Re: Use stepseq. with *any* device (VSTs, Impulse, Analog..)
Altho, the built-in step-seq isn't *that* bad for editing drums, it indeed lacks "an easier access" to per-note velocity & length to make it more production effective when editing things like sequenced Synths.
At least, it works pretty well with Drum-Machines-like plugins, ie: Battery 3/4, Impulse ...

Re: Use stepseq. with *any* device (VSTs, Impulse, Analog..)
There is one tiny Push bug I noticed (with 9.0.4):
Assume you're using the above technique to map let's say Massive to the step sequencer.
Assume you've already configured Massive 8 control knobs as parameters to live's VST holder (the thing in place of the VST instrument in the audio channel ...

Use stepseq. with *any* device (VSTs, Impulse, Analog..)
Just a reminder..
This is not a new trick, but it seems many still ignore it, as I still hear many people complain about the fact only the Drum Racks can use Push's step-sequencer..
Some people used External Devices to trick the system..
But there's a much easier option:

Here is the first follow-up (from Ableton's FB page):
"Ableton Thanks for the feedback and for taking the time to communicate with us about Push. Regarding the LEDs, please understand that it is difficult to maintain perfectly consistent color across 64 pads. We conducted extensive usability ...

Re: Push quality issues, how to adress them, and UI requests.
Just to illustrate a bit, here is mine while editing a clip in note view..
This is supposed to be white and blue..

Basically, it's just like buying a new phone/tablet, only to discover dead pixels on the screen:
It sucks.

Re: Push quality issues, how to adress them, and UI requests.
Hmm lots of rants on the Pad sensitivity (seems most people aren't aware of the User+hold shortcut)
Nevertheless, individual PAD sensitivity and possibly after-touch calibration (as I saw suggested in these forums) would definitely address most issues.
(+LED "white" calibration!)

Same issue
+ LED discolorations
See my thread and suggestion for possible fix
Bump it if you think it's adequate.

Re: Can you save your project from Push?
No you cannot.
You can't duplicate, delete, rename, copy/paste a track/device either.
... yet.

Dear Ableton.
Following my two previous rants on your official Facebook page (still un-answered), I'm taking the liberty to port the discussion right here.
