Re: Drumrack - change volume of several pads at once?
map them all to the same dial on your midi controller (note that this will make all the volumes the same though, so you cant turn them all up by a certain amount only to a certain quantity). If your not using one then im not sure there is a way around it.

Re: When to use EQ3, when to use EQ8?
EQ3 is if you have Ableton mapped to a controller for live DJ'ing purposes. So you still have your 3 dial DJM EQ feel.
If you DJ'ing between records/cd's/ableton your nott gonna want to arse about with an 8 band EQ on ableton when mixing. its not necessary.

Cheers!

Problem with MIDI mapping effects (and effect parameters)
Is there a way to make a midi mapping activate under certain conditions?
For example, i have different effects mapped to a selector dial (so i can switch between them), so if you turn the dial it switches from one effect then along to the others, one by one.

Re: being accused of not being a "real DJ" with Ableton
Personally I use ableton and turnatbles, i use ableton to play backing beats and mash up beats, and turntables to scratch/beat juggle.
