(Clip NOT global) Record Quantization - Mapping?

I am retooling my Live looping set, and would love to be able to map a midi controller, keystroke, etc. to change the Record Quantization on the fly without a mouse. To clarify, I am referring to Edit>Record Quantization>"Quarter Note Quantization" (etc.), NOT the global quantization for launching c...

Re: Behringer FCB1010 - Does it hum when powered on?

I awake from my cryopreservation chamber. The Earth seems similar in so many ways yet so different. What year is this? 2017. Remarkable. Ten Years in cryosleep. Time to catch up on a few forum posts I missed. Give 'em a little bump, as we used to say back in 2007. Way way back in 2007 . How does th...

Re: Session View - Live Looping Quantization

DUDE, thanks so much! It was the "Default Launch Quantization" inside Preferences--it had been set to "None". I have no idea when I mis-adjusted that, oops. All back to normal now, thanks again.

Re: Session View - Live Looping Quantization

Thanks for the reply. Usually I use a midi-controller to do this, but was just testing it with my mouse to get the behavior I described. From the manual for Live 9: 3. Click the Session Record button to record into the selected scene in all armed tracks. A new clip will appear in each clip slot, wit...

Session View - Live Looping Quantization

I've been using Live as a live looping tool with instruments since version 2. Over time, I've used the arrangement view more and more, and dwindled down to no live looping in the session view for the last few years. My old strategy was simple--using the session view with the global quantization set ...

Re: Scroll Wheel Zoom - For the love of GOD! Please.............

Can the Ableton's pretty pretty please chime in here and let us know what's up with this feature request that's been on the table for the better part of a decade?!?!

Re: Scroll Wheel Zoom - For the love of GOD! Please.............

Funken--these are all useful workarounds, but they are just that--workarounds! I think we all "get" the prescribed zooming methods you describe, but feel these are not as good as scroll wheel zoom--I will never be convinced otherwise--scrollwheel zoom is the fastest/best workflow for me, hands-down....

collapse/merge midi notes?

I'm trying to slice a kick drum mic track to midi notes (using slice-to-midi feature in Live), then use those midi notes to trigger a kick sample in BFD2. When I slice, it gives me a range of midi notes (one per kick hit)--I want to collapse/merge this range of notes so that each midi note is the sa...

Just make alt (or ctrl) + scroll wheel = zoom already!

Re: Scroll Wheel Zoom - For the love of GOD! Please.............

if you get autohotkey you could do a sortof workaround using + and - like so: WheelUp::+ WheelDown::- heh. zooms around the insert marker. Good call. I've done this by using a mouse with lots of buttons, including ones that are above and below then zoom wheel. The mouse software allows me to assign...

Re: janky pitch bend wheel, midi filter vst plugin fix?

cool, happy to help. Your post inspired me to email StudioLogic's support in the USA, we'll see if they have any solutions. The free midi plugins in the link I sent are impressive--there must be at least 50 of them--pretty much anything you want to do with midi data, you can do it with these plug-in...
