Have you thought about filtering or doing post editing. The auto filter is by far my favorite tool to use on any track, especially bass. Record a clip, and try the filter on band pass mode to get more of a rounded speaker tone. For slap, try the notch. In both instances, sweep the freq until you get ...

I don't know if this had occured to you, but you can create 16 different tracks, and load them with your samples (drums or stabs, loops, whatever). Turn off the warp function! Then route all of the tracks to "sends only." Then route the output of the selected send to a new audio track and arm the ...

I have one, and it is cool, but it is not the best case I have used. It attracts lint and dirt like that is its job, and the internal/removable partition for the computer has a tendency to move on you, leaving the corners, bottoms, and sides somewhat vulnerable to damage. I would still pirchase one ...

The best solution is to use an external midi clock from a device such as a drum machine or keyboard, or a midi timepiece from a company like Motu or DigiDesign. I myself use a Roland SH-32 desktop synth with a midi splitter cable as my master clock. You can use software such as Midiclock http://www ...

Reaktor is a CPU eating beast, but it can be conquered. Try lowering your sample rate, this adds a downsampled distortion, great fot electro or drum and bass, or do as mentioned in another post and bounce your audio. There are also more efficient ensembles in the legacy library, which you have to ...

I would whole heartedly endorse the purchase. I run 2 macs (PowerBook G4 1.5ghz w/2gb ram & an old iBook G3 600mhz 384mb w/ an army of m-audio controllers; oxygen8, ozonic, trigger finger, uc-33, radium49, mobilepre, and a uno running to some Roland gear), and have never had a problem. OSX combined ...

In my opinon, most field recorders are sub par as compared to a computer running live. I myself use an iBook for all of my recording out in the world. There are cheap solutions such as this mic with built in usb cable. http://sweetwater.com/store/detail/C01usb/

Any midi foot contoller should work. I have used Rolands, Digitechs, whatever, even an organ pedal set, as long as it is midi. The easiest way is to midi map your controls through live's internal map. Click the midi icon or [ctrl+m], then select the parameter you wish to control, such as track arm ...

I have noticed this from time to time, especially after changing the start point or editing the lenght of the clip. Sometimes you have to reset the start point by clicking on the stop clip box and restarting it. This should reset the start point to the flag that is displayed in the clip. Hope this ...

separate drum patterns for impulse
One other option is to use a seperate midi track as it's own sequncing track. I have done this on occasion so I can separate my patterns by sounds. This is effective to change an individual pattern, such as a hh or bd rhythm, or to change up snare fills. To do this create a new midi track [ctrl ...
