Not true. Simply press the accent button and everything you play will be at a fixed velocity of 127.

Pitch slider for tempo nudge in Session mode
It was just a thought that occurred to me that as the pitch slider doesn't do anything in session mode it would be nice if it could be used to bend the tempo as there's no functionality for it on the Push yet and ergonomically the pitch slider is located in almost the perfect position. Given that colours for chains that are part of a drum rack can be set using the session view it would make sense to me for them to be visible in the drum rack itself as well. I don;t know how difficult this would be to implement but it could make keeping track of where one was in a rack during live ...
