Would it benefit to set up some smaller partitions on my 1TB internal drive ... 1 partition (perhaps 20gig) for VST's , and another partition (perhaps another 20gig or so) for compositions
Im thinking that maybe ...

Re: Live 8.2.2 + Firewire TC PowerCore Plugins = BlueScreen
Yea they do
Could this be a firewire bandwith thing?
How do I increase that? Is there any firewire cards you could recommend?
I currenty have both Saffire Pro and PowerCore going in to firewire ports on a card. Sometimes the powercore plugins disable on their own (?) and I was told this could be ...

Re: SE Titan -> Saffire Pro 40 -> Live 8 ..Mic Input Mono?
Ok fixed ... I have just been informed I should be recording a mono signal anyway. I have adjusted the channels accordingly
You can close this, thanks.

Really cool advice cheersKhazul wrote: I spent 1350 on a custom build pc which included using most of the hard-drives, monitor keyboard and mouse from my previous DAW PC - ok so end result is pretty decent.
Out of interest, what is the spec of your custom PC?
What sound card are you using?

Re: £1000 budget .... fresh home studio set up ... equipment?
monitors and pre-amp.
whole budget spent.
get those down, the rest will follow. without good monitors and in your case pre-amps, it doesn't really matter what else you have.
thanks man, but surely without the ability to create music first there is no point listening to a spiking / latency ...

Hi all
In the past to create music I have always used a computer with software running and a midi keyboard, and thats more or less it.
My most recent set up is a PC running Ableton (of course?) but it is an old PC.
