After a C drive failure where I had to restore it to its initial settings I re-installed ableton and typed in my authorization code again.
Upon opening my project which contains numerous different songs about half of them were missing with the clip saying "Sample Offline"

I have a Samsung R580 (Core i3, Windows 7 x64) which seems to run Live 8.2 perfectly.

Has been a while since I responded so sorry for that; thought I'd first of all get a standard firewire expresscard to see if it worked without TI chipset so other people would know too.

Yeh, I'd set it literally just to the C:/ Drive, not a folder within it.

I just followed dentaku's method, attempting actually to just edit the cfg file and change the VST destination within it, which i thought i'd done however on lauch it said that there was an error with the file.

So I set my VST folder to my C: Drive because I'm a numpty and everytime I start up Live 8.2 it freezes as it's trying to scan the whole computer.

Is there anyway I can reset the folder to default so that it stops?

i don't know too much about this but is it not just sending note values to which none of the kit is assigned?
As in the button may be note G2 but the kick etc is on G3. can you see on the rack that notes are hit?

To be quick, not really (with a good degree of success) but you can try the 'Utility Trick'
Lots of songs have the vocals bang in the center with instruments panned gently around it so you can cancel the phase of the stereo sound (summat like that)

I've seen elsewhere that Automap can actually enhance the Launhpad quite significantly, as you can toggle between using the Automap mappings and the native Ableton use. It would be such a shame if you couldn't do this and you had to choose either one or the other, though it still seems like a ...
